Phaedra Vandenbrun

Phaedra is a graduate of Ryerson's prestigious fashion program.  After graduating in 1994, she started her own business, Raven's Wing, specializing late 18th and early 19th century military uniforms, and apparel.  She moved to Calgary in 1997, where her artistic passions lead her to explore quilting, multimedia art, costume design, and teaching.  Currently she is a member of the Sacred Arts Guild of Alberta.

Within the theatre and independent film industry, she is well known for her ability to deliver top-notch costumes, within budget, and on time.  She has been nominated for awards many times, and won a community theatre award for Outstanding Costume Design.

 

At Olds College she taught a wide variety of courses for its Fashion Marketing program.  At Bow Valley College she taught courses for its Interior Decorating program.  At both institutions she developed courses for face-to-face, and on-line delivery. Her teaching experience also includes recreational classes in sewing, quilting, fashion history, textiles, and art crime.
